Tranquil is a PDS implementation with a bunch of great features

A superset of the reference PDS: passkeys and 2FA (TOTP, backup codes, trusted devices), SSO login and signup, did:web support (PDS-hosted subdomains or bring-your-own), multi-channel notifications (email, Discord, Telegram, Signal) for verification and alerts, granular OAuth scopes with human-readable descriptions, app passwords with configurable permissions (read-only, post-only, or custom scopes), account delegation with permission levels and audit logging, and a built-in web UI for account management, repo browsing, and admin.

I have several use cases, including sharing a lot of the atproto community accounts, including for other communities I am connected to like DWebYVR, Users & Agents, etc

This is a call for (1) who is interested in learning about installing and maintaining a Tranquil instance on our server in Canada, and (2) who would like to migrate or create shared accounts there. Leave a comment!

We have a number of people who can give some infra support and hand out a VPS on our Canada server.

We’d like to migrate https://www.userandagents.org to Tranquil PDS! We recently created a fresh Atmosphere account with Eurosky and haven’t done much with it yet. The community could really benefit from the account delegation feature.

Im currently running tranquil for atproto.la and my primary account. The plan is to donate this instance to run at atproto.global for all atproto.local accounts to run on if they would like - we’ve been having this discussion in the atproto.local signal group for a bit. I’ve been banging on Tranquil to find the edge cases before inviting groups to atproto.global bc we don’t want any big problems!!

Big fan of this; maybe we can collaborate?

Great! We’ve got this server in Canada that it can run on.

I am also interested in migrating our open-source organization (@recaptime.dev and project-specific accounts like lorebooks.wiki) to Tranquil PDS by self-hosting it on Uberspace, although I could lend a hand on the infra side as someone who’s been running a NixOS-based homelab server since last year alongside Docker Compose stuff.

Hi Boris, haven’t checked what account delegation means in practice. I would like to move @atproto.berlin to selfhosted and than see whats possible. Currently we share the ATBerlin password we a bunch of people who help running the group, setup RSVP or occasionally post (never happened actually :joy: ). Happy to try what tranquil can do. Thanks for offering this.
