There are lots of SF locals, I know several people are planning to fly into SF, and the two day hackathon is open for all to join, registration is no charge.
Anyone planning on taking the lead on planning some community activities during the week?
For AtmosphereConf, we’re going to get Ms Boba @essentialrandom.bsky.social some early sticker / postcard prints to distribute.
There’s an RSVP event in the community already https://atmo.rsvp/p/atmosphere.community/e/3miu4s5e2mf2g

I’m flying in on the 15th and back on the 20th!
Hackathon ATProto project could be great! Free and open, no need to buy a ticket to IETF 127 proper. IETF 127 Hackathon | IETF Community Wiki

I haven’t confirmed my plans yet but I’m hoping to be there as well.

dholms and I are both traveling to SF, and will be at both days of the hackathon. I get in that Saturday morning and will be around at least through Wednesday.
The specific day and time of the atproto working group meeting at the IETF hasn’t been announced yet. The preliminary schedule gets posted this Friday IIRC. If it is Thursday or Friday i’ll extend my stay.
The IETF venue is a hotel in Union Square in downtown San Francisco.
As snarfed mentioned, the weekend hackathon requires registration but doesn’t cost anything. It is very flexible: folks can pre-organize a project, hack on it, and then present it at the end on Sunday. Or just hang out, chat about atproto, and network (zing) with other standards and protocol people.
In-person participation in the IETF working group meeting requires registration. Which isn’t too crazy expensive for organizations, and does help fund the overall IETF mission, but is steep for independent developers. Another option, even for local folks, is to participate remotely. You can generally get a no-cost waiver to participate in one day/session, by filling out a form on the IETF website.
I’m interested in helping organize an informal hangout/meetup after hours during the week. I’m curious to hear when our session is going to be before getting in to the details.

I will be there for the hackathon on the weekend! Currently working on https://socialweb.computer and looking to connect those who have compute with those who need compute for use cases such as those mentioned in Paul’s recent ATProtoPDX talk and others! In general looking to collaborate on agent native uses of atproto and explore auth options and protocol native RBAC etc. or anything atproto of course
