What is the Games Working Group (GWG)?
The GWG is a group of developers working to develop an interoperable standard across games and games-adjacent applications building on atproto. Here are a few examples of work that would fall into our purview:
- collaborating to develop a standard game lexicon (similar to standard.site’s
publicationordocument) - a lexicon for scores
- collaborative ownership of AppView infrastructure for this data
- development of Unreal/Unity/Godot/other game engine SDKs that ease adoption of these tools
How does the GWG work?
The GWG uses discussions and proposals in this forum to make decisions and prioritize our work. Anybody can open or weigh in on topics in this forum. Decisions are made based on consensus or, if necessary, by the co-chairs when the GWG cannot come to a consensus.
The current WG Co-chairs

If you would like to help organize this WG, please reach out to any of the sitting co-chairs.
How do I contribute to the GWG?
If you’re interested in co-chairing, reach out to any of the current co-chairs. If you’d like to discuss adding or changing something in the standards developed by the GWG, create a new post in the GWG forum. There is no official membership aside from the co-chairs. Anybody is welcome to contribute to the GWG.
